The catalogue numbers for the albums released by Anthem Records initially consisted of three parts; a prefix indicating the release format, a single digit indicating the number of discs, and a sequence number that started from 1001 with the first release. The single digit was dropped in 1991 when albums were only released on CD, and the catalogue numbering system was changed completely in 2000. From 1977 until ? all albums were released on 12" vinyl with a prefix of 'ANR' and on 8-track tapes with a prefix of '8AN'. In ? there were a series of budget priced vinyl re-issues. These has the prefix ANR-6 followed by the last two digits of the original release. In ? the 8-tracks were replaced with compact cassettes, prefixed with '4AN', and in ? the first CDs were issued with prefix 'ANC'. Subsequent re-issues saw 'ANK', 'VANK', 'WANK', and 'WAGK' used for CDs and 'ANT', 'WANT' and 'WAGT' for compact cassettes. These alternate prefixes indicated different budget codes. There was also another set of CD re-issues with prefixes of 'AND', 'ANBD', 'ANMD'. No attempt is made within this discography to track all the catalogue number variations for each release; in most cases just the catalogue number for the original LP or CD is given. |
